Welcome Our New Board Members!


Kathy Banks, DMD, was elected to the OMSF Board of Directors. She is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in private practice in New Jersey. Her private practice interests include implantology, pathology, orthognathic surgery and anesthesiology.

Dr. Banks’ is a dental staff member at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and she teaches the post graduate GPR residents in the clinic and at her private practice. She has been instrumental in the development of several approved New Jersey State Board of Dentistry continuing education courses offered by J.S.U.M.C. Department of Dentistry Continuing Education Department for dentists, hygienists and dental assistants.

As an AAOMS fellow, Dr. Banks is the current District II Delegate and a member of the Health Care and Advocacy committee. She served on the Anesthesia DVD Task Force and, recently, on the Third Molar Summary Task Force. She is an active participant in the AAOMS Day on the Hill event, and she received the 2012 John F. Freihaut Political Activist Award.

Mark Egbert, DDS, was appointed to complete the term of Dr. A. Thomas Indresano, who was elected AAOMS Trustee for District VI. Dr. Egbert is Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Egbert is associate professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, with an adjunct appointment in the Division of Plastic Surgery in the School of Medicine. He has served on numerous review boards for journals, including the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Journal of OMS and the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology (Triple O) Journal.

He has served as president of the Western Society of OMS and the Washington State Society of OMS and he has served in the AAOMS House of Delegates representing the Washington State Society for many years. He chairs and serves on committees of the AAOMS. He has served on the examining committee of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Arthur C. Jee, DMD, comes to the OMSF Board of Directors following his term as AAOMS President. Dr. Jee is in private practice at the Washington-Baltimore Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Center in Maryland.

His private practice interests include dentoalveolar surgery, cleft palate-cleft lip repair, trauma, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, dental implants with associated bone grafting techniques, and office anesthesia. Dr. Jee is currently the AAOMS Immediate Past President. He is also Secretary of the Middle Atlantic Society of OMS and a former Trustee of District II.

Dwight Edwards named executive director

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Dwight Edwards has been named Executive Director of the OMS Foundation. Dwight has over thirty years of non-profit fundraising experience in healthcare related education, community and association institutions. Dwight has served as Interim Executive Director since July 1, 2012.
