Last year, we exceeded the AAOMS Challenge and raised more than $1 million for REAP - Research and Education Advance Patient care. Including the generous gifts from AAOMS, the Foundation raised more than $1.5 million to support research and education in our specialty.
Thank you to all of you who made gifts to REAP. It was our most successful REAP year to date, and we couldn’t have done it without our donors.
With this success, we find the Foundation in a position of strength. We came together to support REAP, and we are ready to face the challenges of the future of the specialty.
We celebrate our REAP success, yet we must be realistic about the future. REAP was initiated to help the specialty take a step into the future, by meeting the research and education challenges of today.
The challenges are many. Across the country there continue to be changes in institutional budgets and rising costs. We can combat these challenges through support of REAP. Through REAP, we will continue to strengthen our outstanding researchers and educators with more support. Continued innovation and excellence through research and education are imperative!
Our next step is to double the value of our research grants, awards, and fellowships, which will require doubling our Foundation corpus during the next five years.
We hold the keys to our own success. We need consistent, continuing support for REAP annually. We will shape our future with annual support of the REAP program.
